1962 Byrd Induction is Black Day for the Hall of Fame
In what would become a black day in the Hall’s history, Robert Byrd was inducted into the Hall of Fame. The Board of Directors considered Byrd, From West Virginia as the poster child for white supremacy. After Byrd’s good friend George Wallace was injured during a political campaign for president (shot 4 times) running on the “Ignorant and Stupid Ticket”, Mr. Byrd decided to distance himself from the anti-civil rights movement. While Mr. Byrd did not lose his last election, it appears he has lost most of his long term memory and bladder control. In any case, he no longer remembers ever being in the clan or posing for his official hall of fame photo. Mr. Byrd also has the dubious distinction of being the only recipient of the Silly Ass Hat Award to have actually shown up to be the Grand Marshal of the Buttscratch Halloween Parade.
